Kids Zone Safety

SAFETY AND SECURITY POLICIES IN OUR CHURCH
Parents, we want you to feel comfortable with church attendance, and have prepared a safe environment for you and your children at Apopka SDA Church. You can trust that we are following the Centers for Disease Control and American Pediatrics Academy guidelines. We are following these guidelines for screenings, social distancing, cleaning, and how we deal with individual
handled items in our classes. Our classrooms are disinfected with several safe means, touch surface cleaning, and deep cleaning. Our primary goal is to provide a safe environment for your children in order to worship and learn about Jesus. Physical Distancing: Children will be spaced apart at all times weather they are participating indoors or outdoors (during lesson study, craft, games and activities). Masks: All volunteers and helpers are required to wear masks. Children in Beginner A/Nursery (ages birth-2 years) are not required to wear masks. Beginner class teachers, assistances and volunteer helpers are required to wear masks at all times as they may need to be closer than six feet to the children.
Screening:
ALL staff, helpers, and children must enter through check-in at the welcome center and have temperature checked and screened before entering Kids Zone and class rooms. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or above and determined to be sick will be sent home for the day. Any staff, volunteers, or children who have any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle aches, new loss of sense of taste or smell) should not attend church or any church gathering. Check-In/Drop-Off/Pick-up: For safety, all families are required to check their children in to Sabbath School at the Kids Zone welcome center located in the lower auditorium lobby (will receive two tags). Pick-up of children at the end of Sabbath School – Families, designated adults or siblings who are in sixth grade or above may also pick up a child using the matching tag (must presented tag when picking up child).

Snacks
All children will be asked to use hand sanitizer before snack time. Helpers will use hand sanitizer and wear gloves to distribute snacks. Exposure/Returning after Sickness Any staff, volunteer, or family that is diagnosed with COVID-19 please notify the children’s ministry director and follow CDC/your healthcare provider guidelines for isolation and waiting the appropriate amount of time before returning to gatherings.
